Well done

Many people have already said it, but I haven't seen a Mario parody this legitimate in a long time.

The animation was smooth and consistent, and your attention to character detail was impressive. The scene which could've been improved were the first few shots of the Goombas talking. The choice of scene angle made it difficult to differentiate the two of them.

Script and humour was top notch. Scenes like Mario falling off the side of the stage, only to have 99 (now 98) lives were clever and kept me smiling the whole way through. At first I thought the scene with the two stoner Koopas were unoriginal, branching from an age old joke about the mushrooms, but the way you tied it in with the story at the end made up for it, as well as the witty dialogue. The pacing of the parody also impressed me, it never seemed to drag on.

Last, but not least: Voice acting was brilliant. Reminded me of the level of voice acting you'd expect from people like Egoraptor. I'm hoping to see more of SirUndead's voice more often.

Keep doing what you're doing, because it works. Very well.

Thanks for the review, this is very helpful !

Awesome

GT has always been one of my favorites. And this one takes the cake.
Even without knowledge about racing games you've seemed to have outlined them perfectly. (But then again, that's not too hard.) Anyway, great voice acting by Ego, excellent animation, especially with the side on lip syncing. However, the repetitive background music did seem to get boring after a while, so more BGM variety would be great.

I'm racing to vote 4/10 and 8/10.

RubberNinja responds:

Haha, well when I was making this I had a very limited budget provided (not to mention time) to me by the ABC. I couldn't really afford a massively elaborate selection of background music for the project. But I totally agree with what you're saying.

Good for a first try.

Your movie wasn't the greatest, but not back for a first attempt. Here's a few steps you can take to improve on your future work:

1. Before submitting a movie, try making an icon. Movies without icons usually get lower scores.
2. We all like Madness, however the idea is getting pretty stale and should really be left to it's original creator: Krinkels. Try making up your own ideas.
3. Hank can't talk. Sorry :P
4. The animation was quite choppy. Try spending more time on movement and place a few more frames in between character movement.
5. Add sound. Adding sound into a movie can change the score dramatically.

Overall it wasn't the greatest piece of work I've ever set my eyes on, however you've done an ok job for a first submission.

there was sound actually but my computer said "sound will be ignored"

Not bad.

Ok, first.
- No sound? Sorry, but that will drastically lower your score.
- Try putting in a preloader.

However, your animation style is excellent, and it's nice and smooth. Keep trying with your flash work.

Nice work

Very nice work for a first Flash. Just fix up the gravity and do a little bit more work on the art. OTher than that, it was good! :)

Chibidude5 responds:

Thanks! I'll work on the art, and now that multiple people have told me to fix the gravity, I'm definitely going to work on it. Thanks again!

Didn't really like it..

Please put a little more effort into your flash next time.
